our story

Made by someone who
sat where you sit.

nuri. was born at a kitchen table, out of a simple frustration — and a deep belief that the things we choose for our children deserve the same thought we put into everything else.

There's a moment — somewhere between the chaos of a thrown spoon and the quiet of a toddler finally eating — where something shifts. You realize that mealtime isn't just about food. It's about connection. Patience. The small, repeated acts of showing up.

We started nuri. because we believed that the things sitting on your child's table should be as thoughtful as the love you pour into what goes on it.

nuri. was born from a simple frustration: baby feeding products were either cheap and worrying, or expensive and cold. Bright plastics in primary colors. Cluttered branding. Products that felt designed for a shelf, not a home. We wanted something different — something that belonged in a real kitchen, made by people who understood what it meant to feed a child with intention.

Every nuri. product is made from 100% food-grade silicone. No BPA, no BPS, no guessing. Our colorways are drawn from nature: oat, sage, terracotta, sand, slate, and dusk. Our shapes are designed around how toddlers actually eat — messy, curious, determined, and joyful. We build in the suction. We round the tines. We get the grip right. Because the details matter when it's your child at the table.

nuri. means light. It means nurture. It means the quiet confidence of a mother who has done the research, made the choice, and set the table with care. We exist to make that choice easier — and to make every mealtime a little more beautiful.

Little tables, big moments.

Safe by design

Food-grade silicone only. Independently tested. Nothing we wouldn't put on our own tables. We publish test results on request.

Built for independence

Designed to grow with toddlers as they move from assisted to self-feeding — at their own pace, in their own time.

Honest always

No age claims. No development promises. No anxiety marketing. Just great products, made well, plainly said.

Our commitment to the planet

Silicone outlasts plastic by decades. Every nuri. product is designed to be passed down, not thrown away. Our packaging is FSC-certified kraft board, printed with one-color vegetable ink. No plastic fillers. No unnecessary inserts. We're not perfect — but we're honest about where we are and deliberate about where we're going.

Why we chose silicone

We considered every material before we settled. Here's what made the decision easy.

No leaching

Food-grade silicone is chemically stable. It doesn't release compounds into food — even at high temperatures. Plastic can't say the same.

Genuinely durable

Silicone doesn't crack, warp, or stain. It handles the dishwasher, the microwave, and the toddler. Equally well.

Soft when it matters

Soft enough not to damage gums and emerging teeth. Firm enough to hold its shape under daily toddler pressure.

Long-term value

One nuri. plate outlasts five plastic alternatives. Buy once, use well, pass on. That's the whole idea.

Materials & safety

Every material decision at nuri. is deliberate. Here's exactly what goes into every product — and why we chose it. No jargon, no greenwashing. Just clarity.

certifications & standards

EN71 certified

European toy and product safety standard. Mechanical, chemical, and flammability testing — every batch.

ASTM F963

US consumer product safety standard for children's products. Third-party independently verified.

BPA & BPS free

Zero bisphenols in any form. Lab tested every batch — not self-declared. Reports available on request.

What "food-grade silicone" actually means

1

Food-grade silicone is a polymer made from silicon (a natural element found in sand and quartz) bonded with oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen. It is not plastic and does not behave like plastic.

2

It is chemically inert — meaning it does not react with food or beverages, even when heated. No compounds migrate into what your child eats. This has been studied and verified independently.

3

Not all silicone is food-grade. We use only platinum-cured, food-grade silicone — the highest purity grade available — in every single nuri. product.

4

Every production batch is independently tested before we ship. If you want to see the lab reports, just ask. We send them. Transparency is not optional for us.
